Crafted by Community

Powered by Community Voices

As we’ve settled into our new building and expanded programming across all five art forms, one theme has been clear — the community is ready for more. From metal to clay to glass to print and wood, people have been asking for deeper, more advanced pathways. This campaign exists to turn those requests into reality.

Groundworks is becoming Boulder’s creative “third place” — a space that belongs to the community, is shaped by the community, and is built for everyone to explore craft at every level. Your gift ensures the studios grow in the direction you are asking them to grow.

Campaign Goal: $55,000

What We Could Create Together

Clay — Anagama & Bourry box Kiln Repair

Our wood-fired ceramics classes are beloved and deeply missed. Repairing our anagama and bourry box kilns will reopen a unique and generations-old firing tradition that artists here are eager to continue learning.

Metal — Knife Making Classes

Knife making is the most requested addition to our metal arts program. Funds will allow us to purchase the specialized tools, equipment, and safety infrastructure needed to launch this advanced craft pathway.

Glass — Flameworking Expansion

Interest in flameworking has taken off, especially among youth and adult learners seeking small-scale, high-detail glasswork. To fully outfit the studio and safely increase capacity, we need additional torches, an oxygen generating system, and professional-grade tools.

Wood + Print — Mobilizing Art

These studios play a key role in our partner programs and community outreach. Your support will help us mobilize printmaking and wood-based activities for housing sites, nonprofit partners, public tabling events, and outdoor activations — bringing the studio to those who can’t always come to us.

Why Give?

This campaign is not about “more equipment.”
It’s about expanding access to the kinds of creative learning the community is asking for most.

Your gift helps ensure:

  • More advanced craft pathways become available to local learners

  • Culturally significant and traditional craft practices are preserved

  • Community partnerships deepen through mobile and outreach-based art

  • Groundworks continues growing as a true gathering space — a place to connect, belong, and create

Every Dollar Doubled

Thanks to a matching gift from a generous donor, every contribution to Crafted by Community will be doubled — amplifying your impact and helping us reach our $55,000 goal twice as fast.

Your gift doesn’t just expand what’s possible in our studios — it helps secure the future of creative learning for everyone in Boulder County.
