Crossover Wood Classes
Kitchen Creations (Wood/Clay)
Is your kitchen in need of a spruce up? Are you lacking some basic kitchen necessities? We've got you covered. In this 8-week class, students will make a variety of fully functional kitchen creations. The class will start with 4 weeks in the clay studio making crocks, spoonrests, and other useful gagets. The class will then switch to the wood studios where students will learn how to create spoons, spurtles, and spatulas to round out their set. Whether you're new to the studio or have been taking classes for years, everyone is welcome in this all levels class.

Lino & Lumber (Wood/Print)
In this cross-studio class you will first have 4 weeks in the printmaking studio to learn the basics of carving into Lino to make a custom 9” x 12” print on paper. You will achieve techniques that can be applied beyond this class and create a Lino block that you can print again.
After completing your 9” × 12” print, you’ll build a custom hardwood frame in maple, cherry, or walnut to showcase it. Starting from rough lumber, you’ll mill stock to precise dimensions using the jointer, planer, table saw, and chop saw. You’ll cut accurate miters and assemble the frame with glued, splined joints in a contrasting wood species for added strength and a refined accent. Finally, we’ll apply an oil-based finish and install your print, so you leave with a professionally crafted frame ready to hang.
All supplies and materials will be provided, but if you have extra elements you'd like to add, students are encouraged to bring them in.
Wednesdays 5:30-8:30pm
Dates: June 24 - August 12
Instructor: Tim Gordon (Wood) & Renate Mairie (Print)

This sampler class is designed to build your confidence and comfort with woodworking, laying a solid foundation for any advanced classes you may choose to pursue in the future. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other passionate woodworking enthusiasts, sharing ideas and experiences in a supportive and welcoming environment.

4-Week Level I Woodworking Classes
Table saws are scary - but they don't have to be! This beginner-level class will focus primarily on milling: the fundamental process of measuring, cutting, and preparing wood for a project. Over the course of 4 weeks, you'll learn how to safely use several of our milling machines (table saw, chop saw, jointer, planer) to cut and shape wood, as well as some of the basics of joinery (joining pieces of wood together), and shaping and finishing with hand tools. We'll walk you through the whole process of creating a simple but beautiful functional piece that you'll want to brag to all your friends about.
These classes include open studio time.
4-Week Level I Carving & Turning Classes
Woodworking isn’t all buzzsaws and wood glue. Wood carving and turning is all about cutting away to create beautiful, sculptural forms. If you’ve been dabbling in clay, you’ll feel right at home in these classes.
Our Wood Carving classes explore the artistry of sculpting out of wood. Using a combination of hand tools and smaller hand-held power tools, you can learn to shape wood into whatever image speaks to you.
Wood Turning can be used as a finishing technique to create perfectly cylindrical legs for a bench, or to hollow out a piece of wood to create bowls, vases, serving platters - you name it!
These classes include open studio time.
